A Perfect Sonnet.

Hello. This post is to celebrate the genius that is Bright Eyes- I can listen to them for hours and hours and hours and days and days and yeah weeks.

Now I believe that lovers should be draped in flowers,
And laid entwined together on a bed of clover,
And left there to sleep,
Left there to dream of their happiness. Isn't that lovely? You're looking skinny like a model with your eyes all painted black.

PENCIL FULL OF LEAD

Doesn't everyone just love a bit of Paolo?

I had a happy happy day yesterday, listening to his new single Pencil Full Of Lead. It's upbeat and really jolly :)

I really got into my textiles project yesterday, ideas just filled up my head and I forgot to eat. It was one of those days...I love them.
Probably a mistake, considering everyone else is making dresses and my teacher thinks I'm reallly weird. I think she thinks of me as tent girl.
But at least GCSE textiles will provide me with something useful! And it's gonna be beautiful. I want to take it to glasto!

Bit of insporation from the lovely Cath Kidston

Whatcha think?

I LIVE FOR GLITTER*

Sparkly things are so lovely!
These Sequin Trousers are £75 from Unique at Topshop.
Good old topshop :)
B E Autiful blazer. Ellie tried it on in Topshop and we nearly cried. Is is bad that glittery things make us cry? hmm. £180. Pretty sure I'll never be able to afford that!
WOW! I would love to wear this dress! French Connection has some stunners at the moment, this Spirit Dress at £260....

& Moon Dress, £180.
Both lovely lovely lovely.

Let me eat cake

As described by Whisk Kid: 'OH SNAP! THIS CAKE IS CRAZY!'

She is a culinary genious! http://whisk-kid.blogspot.com/2009/08/say-it-with-cake.html

It is the most amazing cake I have ever seen.
Ever.
I actually cried the first time I saw it. :')
And then I thought, hmm she's said the recipe, it can't be too difficult...! And I laugh every time I compare my attempt with hers!

It took my friends Frances, Ellie and I 6 hours to create this monster. We used about 10 packets of butter and more icing sugar than I have ever seen! When we'd finished, it was as heavy as a small child. We stuck candles in at jaunty angles, and it resembled the millennium dome.
We were so proud of it! It was for Liv's birthday. She was thrilled :) and we took it to school, and our art class ate it :)

When I first saw you, I knew that you had a flame in your heart.

N A T A S H A/ K H A N.

Isn't she beautiful? I can listen to Bat For Lashes for hours.
'Alternative'! Definately.

I love the odd things she wears.

  • Lots of sequins. I have a lot of love for sequins.
  • Lots of vintage jewellery
  • Feathers! Very tribal and cool.
  • Glitter, especially round her eyes
No high street shop could re-create her look, that's why we all love vintage shopping/ charity shops!

And when the fires came, the smell of cinders and rain...perfumed almost everything

....
we laughed and laughed and laughed

Listen to her cover of 'I'm On Fire' by Bruce Springsteen.
It's so haunting/

roll away your stone, i'll roll away mine

I completely forgot about this blog! Reading what I wrote about a year ago= cringe. Like bad pictures from when you were 13. I like nostalgia though <3

It's half term, how lovely! My brother and I went on a treck this morning. It was sunny and rainy and really windy but it was nice.

Surrealism photography.

We decided to extend our school project into photography, fun, and general craziness. It kinda branched away from surrealism, but I think we got a few good 'uns. Our art teacher laughed, in a nice way.

I LOVE Haberdasheries!

With a passion.
I could spend hours in Aberkhan. LOVE LOVE LOVE IT :)
It's an amazing shop! Seriously, every time I go in I feel like a little kid in a sweet shop...there's boxes full of buttons and ribbons and sequins and flowers and zips and ohmygod it's funfunfun. Me and my friend spent aaages in there the other day, picking stuff out to make gawjus headbands with. Well, we found this site http://www.shopbando.com/Products.aspx?cid=1 and were completely in love. They are beautiful, non?
Anyway, we came out with heaps of ribbons, sequins and little fabric flowers and had a happy afternoon making crazy headbands.
Pictures will be up soon, as I have no battery :(
+yesterday I was in Aberkhan, and found a big basket full of 50p fabric. There were two 1/2m pieces in each bundle, and I found a nice sea-sidey thick cotton one with a chequered green and black one. Bargain much. I made a school bag from the stripy sea-sidey one and pieces of 12p ribbon and vintage lace, a 74p bag? Nice.
Happy weekend. x

Wowza, I have a blog 8-)

:) Hiii there.
Well well well, I'm rather new to all this blogging shizzle.
Let's keep this short and sweet 'till I know what I'm doing, hmm?

Me:
+ I love fashion, but not just the norm. Beautiful and odd is the way forward.
+ I wish I could afford to buy lovely fashion magazines every month/week. But I can't :)
+ My inspiration comes from: not being able to afford anything, my friends, nature and weird people.

That's all for now, chaps.
Ciao. x
